The humanitarian pause in Gaza has given USAID the opportunity to ramp up the safe delivery of life-saving humanitarian assistance to Palestinian civilians. We are rushing high energy, nutritious ready-to-eat foods to the region to help the most vulnerable, working with the U.S. military to airlift the critical supplies to Egypt and with partners to deliver the aid into Gaza. This pause in fighting, a direct result of U.S. diplomacy with our partners in the region, will allow humanitarian organizations to deliver food, medicine, water, and other vital aid to civilians and facilitate the evacuation of sick, injured, and other vulnerable individuals facing extremely dire conditions.
