This week, employees from USAID and the U.S. Department of State gathered for a moment of silence and unity to mourn the loss of life and stand united against terrorism and hate in all its forms. This came in response to the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israeli citizens and Israel’s military response. Early in the crisis, the United States announced $100 million in humanitarian assistance for Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. This aid will provide safe water, emergency food, shelter, hygiene support, and healthcare services. It will also provide psychosocial support and additional humanitarian protection services for conflict-affected communities, including women and children.
